Redesigning the Ne Keksit Website for Better Usability and Sales

Ne Keksit is a Helsinki-based bakery specializing in handmade cookies. Their website looked appealing but lacked usability and online payment options. Our project aimed to redesign the buying flow, integrate payment methods, and make the site easier to navigate — helping customers order cookies effortlessly online.

Challenge

Ne Keksit’s website didn’t clearly guide customers through ordering cookies, lacked an integrated payment system, and didn’t support English, which made the overall online shopping experience feel incomplete and difficult to trust.
The company needed a full redesign to improve usability and support growth.

Goal

To redesign Ne Keksit’s website to create a smoother online shopping experience by improving usability, enabling direct online payments, and adding English language support for a wider audience.

Integrated Online Checkout

We enabled direct payments through Stripe, so customers can now complete orders entirely online without paying during delivery.

Clear and Trustworthy Product Information

Product pages now highlight ingredients, allergen details, pricing, and quantities more clearly, making it easier for customers to choose confidently.

Expanded “About Us” Story & Customer Reviews Section

We expanded the About page with the company’s story and values, and added real customer reviews to strengthen trust and highlight what makes Ne Keksit unique.

Bilingual Website (FI/EN)

The website now supports both Finnish and English, opening the business to international customers in Helsinki and helping more people order independently.

Expected Impact

The redesign makes ordering clearer and more reliable, enables online payments, and strengthens the brand with storytelling and multilingual access.

Benchmarking

We analyzed bakery and cookie webshops to identify best practices for navigation, ordering, and payments.

Clear categories, direct product info, and integrated payments are standard in modern food webshops — missing on Ne Keksit’s site.

Choosing the Platform & Integrating Payments

We compared Tilda, Shopify, and MyCashflow for costs, features, and payment integration.

Tilda remained the most cost-effective and flexible option for the business, but needed custom Stripe integration to support direct online orders.

User Testing

We tested the existing website with multiple users to observe how they navigated, selected cookies, and tried to order.

Users struggled to understand pricing, delivery, and how to place an order without clear instructions or payment integration.
